MX Player Custom Codec with AC3 Support

As a consequence and Due to some licensing issues now MX player can’t play Dolby sound videos and AC3 audio. Because they removed some of its codecs like AC3, DTS, MLP, etc. When you play your favorite videos you get an error Audio format (AC3) is not supported. But It doesn’t means you should delete the video or uninstall the Application. However you can manually download the necessary MX Player Codecs to play those type of files, all the MX Player Codec are available below.

Follow the Instructions to Fix AC3 Audio Format not supported error in MX Player:

• Open MX player and click on the main menu.
• Now click on the settings.

• Click on the decoder.

• Scroll down to see your “Custom codec”.

Here you will see your codec and you need to download that codec for solving the Audio format (AC3) is not supported error. In the screenshot you can see my custom codec is ARMv7 NEON. Download one of the following codec according to your platform as mentioned in the player, If you are not sure then download the all in one pack (AIO).

Installation Method 1

• If you have the zip file in internal storage (in download folder), then keep it there only. If not then move it to internal memory (Recommended)
• Now open the MX player, if it is compatible with the codec pack you have installed, it will automatically say to install the codec pack found in the storage. Just click ok.
• The MX player will restart, and the pack will be installed. Now you can enjoy audio to every video, without any Error.

Sometimes MX Player doesn’t detects the Compatible Codec. So if MX Player fails to detect your custom codec then you can do it Manually by assigning the correct Path. Follow the method Given below :

• Open MX Player and go to Menu>Settings>decoder>custom codec.
• selection pop-up appears on your screen. Choose the correct path of codec that you have downloaded.
• After fetching your new codec Mx player will ask you to restart the Application. Press “OK” to and let it restart.
